There are often several alternative ways to get to a choice in a given workflow. The March 12, 2016 blog post "PE 14/14.1: Add Media Alternative Routes" focused on and detailed alternative routes specific to Add Media in the Expert and Quick workspaces.
ISSUE
Adobe document on "What's new in Premiere Elements 14?" includes in its "new" list Quick workspace "Invocation Points" which appear to be alternative routes to some features other than just Add Media. What are these "Invocation Points"? In that document, Adobe wrote
Workflow initiation from Quick view timeline: The Quick view timeline includes new invocation points to get you started with your video creation process. Click any one of the invocation points like Drop Title, Record Narration, and Drop Audio Clip, to launch the desired workflows. Also see HERE for more on Workflow Initiation.
SOLUTION
The Premiere Elements 14/14.1 "What's new in Premiere Elements 14" list includes Quick workspace Invocation Points for the Filmstrip. The 14/14.1 new Invocation Points are "Drop Title", "Record Narration", and "Drop Audio Clips" which supplement Invocation Point "Drop Files Here" that exists in Premiere Elements 11 through 14/14.1 Quick workspace.*
"Drop Title" NEW
One left click on Filmstrip's "Drop Title" opens the Titles & Text Tab at the bottom of the Quick workspace to give access to the Motion Titles and Classic Titles choices. This Invocation Point is only in 14/14.1. See Figure 1. Adobe's Titles workflow information can be found HERE.

"Drop Files Here"
One left click on Filmstrip's "Drop Files Here" opens the Add Media Panel to reveal its choices of
Elements Organizer
Files and Folders
Photos from cameras or devices
Videos from cameras & devices
Webcam or WDM
DVD camera or computer drive
This Quick workspace Invocation Point exits in Premiere Elements 11, 12/12.1, 13/13.1 as well as 14/14.1.See Figure 2. Adobe's Add Media workflow information can be found HERE.

One left click on Filmstrip's "Record Narration" opens the Voice Narration Record/Play/ dialog. This Quick workspace Invocation Point is only in 14/14.1. See Figure 3. Adobe's Narration workflow information can be found HERE.

"Drop Audio Clips" NEW
One left click on Filmstrip's "Drop Audio Clips" opens the Music Tab at the bottom of the Quick workspace to give access to the Music Scores and Sound Effects choices. See Figure 4. Adobe's 14/14.1 Help PDF information on Adding Soundtracks workflow includes incorrect information. See the 14/14.1 Help PDF Chapter 9: Mixing Adding/Using Soundtracks. There is no SmartSound feature in 14/14.1; consequently, no "Use SmartSound" option** under the Music Tab. Also, this Invocation Point does not initiate a workflow applicable to user's own music stored on the computer hard drive.

COMMENTARY
Typically my preference is for use of the Premiere Elements Expert rather than the Quick workspace since
- In Expert workspace, the user can see better what is going on and consequently have more control of the workflow features
- The features found in the Expert workspace are not all available in the Quick workspace
- What is seen in the Expert workspace track content (above Video 1) is not always seen in the Quick workspace
Please consider what Premiere Elements project choices do and do not enhance your Premiere Elements workflow as you create your special video presentation.

**SmartSound does not exist in Premiere Elements later than version 11.
