PE: Video Transition Used to Create Look

INTRODUCTION

Experimentation in Premiere Elements often produces interesting findings and results. It was decided to try to create some video looks using Premiere Elements video transitions.

PLAN

To try to create a different look for between the last Timeline image and the appearance of Timeline  closing rolling credits.

To try to create a special display for an opening Timeline title which leads into a collection of photos on that Timeline.

RESULTS

Part 1. To try to create a different look for between the last Timeline image and the appearance of Timeline closing rolling credits.

The resulting creation featured the 3D Motion Video transition named Doors which "opened the door" to the closing rolling credits. Refer to export of the Timeline as displayed in Example Video 1.

 Example Video 1

In the Example Video 1 the Doors video transition was placed between the end of the last Timeline image and the beginning of the Timeline closing rolling credits file. The Doors transition settings included:
Duration = 8 sec
Alignment = Between clips
More
..........Border width = 10.0
..........Border color = R 192, G 157, B 235 (C09DEB)
..........Reverse = with check mark
..........Anti-aliasing quality = High

Part 2. To try to create a special display for an opening Timeline title which leads into a collection of photos on that Timeline.

The resulting creation featured the 3D Motion Video transition named Doors which "opened the door" to the beginning of the photo collection display. Refer to export of the Timeline as displayed in Example Video 2.

 Example Video 2

For the desired look at the beginning of the Timeline content, the Doors video transition was placed between the end of the first Timeline image (Default text file) and the beginning of first photo in the series in the photo collection. The Doors transition settings used were the same as those used for the look at the end of Timeline content and the beginning of the closing rolling credits, that is,
Duration = 8 sec
Alignment = Between clips
More
..........Border width = 10.0
..........Border color = R 192, G 157, B 235 (C09DEB)
..........Reverse = with check mark
..........Anti-aliasing quality = High

The Example Video 2 displays the look achieved for both Part 1 and Part 2.

COMMENTARY

The 3D Motion/Doors video transition seemed the best fit for the project involved. Other candidates for the job in discussion included 3D Motion/Curtain, 3D Motion/Swing In and Slide/Split.

For now, I will leave this experiment as a work in progress.
